Currency mappings via API - when the partner uses a currency that is not in BookingStudio

You can specify how an incoming booking should be priced if the booking comes in via API in a currency that does not exist in the agency’s system.

Before such a booking is created, the currency of the booking will be changed to the currency of the mapped sales price list, and the prices applicable to the mapped sales price list will be used for the booking.

Creating a new currency for mapping

Go to Settings ->Overview -> Currency conversions

Settings for currency

Click “New currency mapping”.

New currency mapping

The following screen appears.

Fill in currency code and map

  1. Choose which currency is sent from the partner. It is possible to choose between all currencies.

Choose which currency is sent from the partner

  1. Choose which currency the above currency should be used to create the booking in. The system displays the currencies created in BookingStudio under Accounting->Price lists (sales currency)

Choose which currency the above currency should be used to create the booking in

When - via API - a booking comes in in an unsupported currency, the system looks in this table and sees if there is a mapping for the currency to a price list. If this is the case, then the booking’s price list is changed to the mapped price list, and the booking is then created with the known price list’s prices.

Important Note

The incoming prices are currently NOT used. The booking is created with the current prices from the price list.
